Materials Needed
- To make lucky hearts, you will need a strip of paper.
- You can cut a strip of paper from A4 paper or lightweight scrapbook paper. You could also cut a strip from a large sheet of origami paper.
- The width of the strip will determine how big your star will be.
- We recommend starting with a strip that is 0.8 inch x 11 inch (2cm x 29cm).
Paper Type & GSM
For best results, use origami paper or lightweight paper between 60-80 GSM for clean folds and crisp edges.
Instructions
Step 1: Start with the color you want your lucky heart to be facing down. Arrange the strip so it runs horizontally.
Step 2: Fold the bottom left corner up to meet the top edge.
Step 3: Fold the left side of the paper along the crease you made in the previous step.
Step 4: Repeat previous step 8 to 9 times, matching the edges of the paper each time. Make sure once you have finished folding, you have a small strip of paper left over on the right.

Step 5: Cut off any excess paper and leave only a small strip of paper that is about half the length of the triangle.
Step 6: Trim off the top of the small strip slightly on a diagonal.
Step 7: Tuck in the remaining strip into the triangle.
