Instructions

Step 1: Paper napkins usually come folded into quarters. Open out your napkin, keeping the color you want on the outside of our napkin facing down. Then, place your next napkin (unfolded) on top of the other, this time with the color you want on the outside of your final fold facing up. Make sure you match the edges.

Then, refold your napkin into quarters.

Arrange your napkin to sit like a diamond shape with the open ends towards you, and the folded edge sitting on the top right edge.

Step 2: Fold the bottom point (2 layers only) up to meet the top point.

Step 3: Fold the same point down, leaving a gap from the bottom point as shown. This will become the width of your fan folds.

Step 4: Next, you will accordion fold the same point. To do this, you will alternate between folding the point up and down, matching its edge with the layers below. Since the point is currently at the bottom, you will need to fold it up first, then down again, and then up again, and so on until you have folded the entire flap.

Step 5: Once again, fold the bottom point up (2 layers only) but this time along the line shown.
