Skill Level
★★☆☆☆ (Easy)
Materials Needed
1 square paper napkin (preferably medium-weight, around 60-80 GSM)
Instructions
Step 1: Paper napkins typically come folded into quarters. Unfold your napkin completely. Arrange your unfolded napkin to sit like a diamond shape and make sure the color you want your candle fold to be is facing down.
Step 2: Fold the bottom point up to meet the top point. Sometimes paper napkins aren't cut evenly, so if it's not you may find that not all the edges line up (like mine did in the image). The most important part is to make sure you match the top and bottom points.
Step 3: Starting from the bottom right point, you will roll the napkin into a tube shape until you reach the bottom left point. Ideally, you want to roll it moderately tightly and make sure that the bottom edge lines up as you roll.
Once you reach the left point, tuck the left point into the middle of the tube. If you are having trouble tucking the point in and making the candle hold its shape, you could use a paper clip to hold it together instead or tie a ribbon around the base of the candle.
Step 4: Stand your candle upright. You may need to adjust the bottom of the candle with your fingers if it doesn't sit quite flat. Completed candle napkin fold.

Tips For Success
- Use slightly thicker paper napkins so the candle shape holds its structure when standing upright.
- Press folds firmly to create clean, defined lines that help the shape stay stable.
- Make sure the base is flat so the candle stands securely on the table.
- Avoid overly thin napkins, as they may collapse or lose definition.
- Choose colours that match the occasion to enhance the overall table styling effect.
- Practice once before setting multiple place settings for consistency.
