Skill Level
★☆☆☆☆ (Very Easy)
Materials Needed
- Standard Square Paper Napkins.
- Recommended size: 6.5 inches x 6.5 inches (16.5 cm x 16.5 cm)
Napkin Type
- Use sturdy yet foldable paper napkins.
- A medium-weight napkin (around 60-80 GSM) works best for this project, as it holds folds well but is still easy to handle. Thin napkins may lose their shape, while thicker ones may be harder to crease neatly.
Instructions
Step 1: Start with the color you want your napkin fold to be facing up. You want to start with your napkin folded into quarters as it typically comes in the packet. Have the open end facing you and the folded edge on the top.
Step 2: Fold the bottom edge (top 2 layers only) up to meet the top edge.
Step 3: Fold that same edge down once again, but this time to meet the middle of the napkin (the bottom edge of the flap you just folded up).
Step 4: Once again, fold that same edge down to meet the middle of the napkin.

Tips For Success
- Use crisp napkins – Stiffer paper napkins hold their shape better.
- Match your event theme – Coordinate napkin colors with your table decor.
- Add embellishments – Tuck in a small flower or tie a ribbon around the napkin for an extra special touch.
- Pre-fold for convenience – If hosting a large gathering, fold the napkins in advance to save time.

Common Mistakes & How To Avoid Them
- Napkin too soft? Choose napkins with a bit of thickness so they hold their shape better.
- Pocket too small? Use a larger napkin or adjust your folds to create more space.
- Edges not aligned? Take your time with each fold to ensure a clean, symmetrical look.
