Instructions
Step 1: Start with the color you want your lotus to be facing down.
Step 2: Fold the bottom edge up to meet the top edge.
Step 3: Unfold previous step.
Step 4: Fold the left edge to meet the right edge.
Step 5: Unfold previous step.
Step 6: Fold the bottom left corner in to meet the middle point.
Step 7: Repeat previous step for the remaining corners.
Step 8: Fold the bottom point up to meet the middle point.
Step 9: Repeat previous step for remaining points.
Step 10: Once more, fold the bottom left corner in to meet the middle point.
Step 11: Repeat previous step for remaining corners.
Step 12: Flip your paper over from left to right. Arrange the paper to sit like a diamond.
Step 13: Fold the bottom point to meet the middle point.
Step 14: Repeat previous step for remaining corners.
Step 15: Fold the bottom left corner inward slightly.
Step 16: While holding the folded corner with one hand, gently bring the flap behind it forwards to reverse it to the front.
To help bring the back flap forward, it can help to hold on either side of the folded corner and lightly push down on the paper (to curve it) while bringing the back flap to the front.
Step 17: Fold the little inner flap up.
Step 18: Repeat steps 15 to 17 for the remaining corners.
Step 19: Flip your flower over.
Step 20: Carefully peel the 4 flaps over to the other side. These flaps can be reversed to the other side so that they are on top of the first set of petals.
Step 21: Optional: Fold the last set of flaps over to the other side. And curl back the tips of the petals slightly.
