Materials Needed

• Square paper: 6x6 inches is a great size to start with, but you can use larger or smaller paper depending on how big or small you want your box to be.
• Type of paper: Regular origami paper or lightweight cardstock (160-200 gsm) works best for making a sturdy box. You can also use patterned paper, scrapbook paper, or themed paper to match the occasion, like Christmas, birthdays, or weddings.
• Bone folder (optional): This tool helps create sharper folds and gives your box a cleaner, more professional look.

Note: We used 6x6-inch paper, but you can experiment with different sizes to create larger or smaller boxes.

The size of the paper determines the final dimensions of the box, so adjust accordingly based on your needs.

Step 1: Start with the color you want the outside of your candy box to be facing up. Arrange the paper in a diamond shape.

Step 2: Fold the bottom point to meet the top point.

Step 3: Fold the right point to meet the left point.

Step 4: Bring the flap you made in the previous step over to the right and open it out at the same time.

Step 5: Flatten the paper, matching the top points. The flap should end up in a square shape.

Step 6: Flip the paper over from left to right.

Step 7: Fold the left point to the right point, opening it at the same time.

Step 8: Flatten the paper, matching the top edges. You should now have a square with the open edges of the square at the top.

Step 9: Fold the top point down (single layer only) to meet the bottom point.

Step 10: Repeat previous step on the other side.

Step 11: Flip the right section towards the left. You should now have a solid square.

Step 12: Flip the paper over, keeping the open edges at the top.

Step 13: Flip the right section towards the left, like you did in step 11.

Step 14: Fold the upper left and right diagonal edges to meet the centre crease.

Step 15: Flip the paper over and repeat previous step.

Step 16: Fold the top point down to meet the bottom point.

Step 17: Unfold previous step.

Step 18: Flip the left sides of the origami to the right on both the front and back once more. You should end up with a bunny shape.

Step 19: Fold the bottom point (single layer only) upwards as far as possible.

Step 20: Fold the top point of the flap you just folded up back down to meet its lower edge.

Step 21: Slightly open the lower section of the origami and carefully tuck the flap underneath, hiding them.

Step 22: Repeat steps 19 to 21 on the other side.

Step 23: Fold the bottom section up.

Step 24: Unfold previous step.

Step 25: Flip the left sides of the origami to the right on both the back and front.

Step 26: Fold the top point down to meet the bottom point.

Step 27: Fold the same point upwards. The bottom edge of the flap should line up with the bottom line and there should be a tiny overlap on the top.

Step 28: Fold the tip of the point that overlaps down a little.
