Materials Needed
- Square paper: A 6x6-inch (15cm x 15cm) sheet is perfect for a standard-sized shield, but feel free to experiment with different sizes for larger or smaller designs.
- Type of paper: Light to medium-weight paper (70-120 gsm) is best for easy folding. You can use colored or patterned paper to make your shield more visually appealing.
Note: We used a 6x6-inch (15cm x 15cm) sheet for our origami shield, but you can adjust the size to create shields that suit your project.
Instructions
Step 1: Start with the color you want the cross to be facing up.
Step 2: Fold the paper in half, bringing the bottom edge to the top edge.
Step 3: Unfold the previous step.
Step 4: Fold the left side to the right side.

Step 5: Unfold previous step.
Step 6: Fold one corner to the middle of the paper, leaving a small gap. This gap will form the cross of your shield.
Step 7: Repeat previous step for remaining corners.
Step 8: Fold the top edge backwards. The positioning of this fold is up to you.
