Materials Needed

1 sheet of square origami paper: 6 inches x 6 inches (15 cm x 15 cm) is a great starting size.

For smaller or larger roses, adjust the paper size accordingly. Lightweight paper works best for crisp, clean folds.

Instructions

Step 1: Start with the color you want your rose to be facing down.

Step 2: Fold the paper in half from left to right.

Step 3: Unfold previous step.

Step 4: Fold the paper in half from top to bottom.

Step 5: Unfold previous step.

Step 6: Fold the bottom left corner in to meet the middle point.

Step 7: Repeat previous step for remaining corners.

Step 8: Once again, fold all the corners in to meet the middle point.

Step 9: One more time, fold all the corners in to meet the middle point. If using thicker paper, it can help to use a bone folder along the creases.

Step 10: Fold the top layer of each flap out, leaving a small gap from the edge.

Step 11: Fold the inner flaps out slightly to meet the intersection points of the previous step.

Step 12: Once again, fold the inner flaps (that are now showing) outwards to meet the intersection points of the previous step.
