Materials Needed
- 1 square sheet of paper (Recommended size: 3 inches x 3 inches (7cm x 7 cm))
- Toothpick
- Glue or tape (to attach the bunny to the toothpick)
- Marker (optional, for drawing details on the bunny)
Note: A DIY bunny cake topper made with 3 inch (7cm) square paper will make a cake topper that is about 3.5 inches (9cm) long including toothpick length and 1 inch (3 cm) wide.
If you want to make your cake toppers taller, you could use bamboo skewers and cut them to size.
Instructions
Making The Rabbit Face
Step 1: Start with the color you want your rabbit to be facing down. Arrange your paper to sit like a diamond.
Step 2: Fold the bottom point up to meet the top point.
Step 3: Fold the left point to meet the right point.
Step 4: Unfold previous step.
Step 5: Fold the bottom edge up slightly. If you are using 6 inch (15cm) square paper, we recommend making this at least 0.40 inches (1cm). This will become the thickness of your ears.
Step 6: Fold the bottom left side of the paper up to meet the top point, matching the points shown in the image.
Step 7: Repeat previous step for the right side of the paper, matching the points shown in the image.
Step 8: Fold the top point of the right ear and fold it down diagonally to meet the inner point of the square shape.
Step 9: Repeat previous step for the left ear.

Step 10: Flip your paper over from left to right. You will now have a square shape with two points (which are the ears) behind the square.
Step 11: Fold the top point of the square backward a little.
Step 12: Fold the bottom point of the square backward a little, this will form the bunny's chin.
Step 13: Fold the left and right points of the square backward a little. How you fold these will change how your bunny's face looks. Adjust it how you like.
Step 14: Completed bunny face. Optional, decorate your bunny with markers, stickers, or add a face.
Making the cake toppers
Step 1: Place your paper rabbit facing down.
Step 2: Place the toothpick on the back of the rabbit face.
Step 3: Glue or tape the toothpick to the rabbit face.
Step 4: Completed rabbit face cake topper.
