Materials Needed

  • 1 square sheet of origami paper (double-sided recommended for best contrast)
  • Markers or stickers (optional, for decorating the bunny's face)

6 inches x 6 inches (15 cm x 15 cm) paper makes a bunny that is about 3.5 inches (9 cm) x 2 inches (5.5 cm).

Instructions

Step 1: Start with the color you want your egg facing up. Arrange your paper to sit like a diamond shape.

Step 2: Fold the left point to meet the right point.

Step 3: Unfold previous step.

Step 4: Fold the top point down to meet the bottom point.

Steps 1 to 4 for folding an easy origami bunny in an egg.

Step 5: Unfold previous step.

Step 6: Fold both the left and right points in to meet the middle crease.

Step 7: Flip your paper over from left to right.

Step 8: Fold the top point down to meet the middle.

Steps 5 to 8 for folding an easy origami bunny in an egg.

Step 9: Fold the same point up to meet the top edge.

Step 10: Fold the bottom point up to meet the edge of the top flap.

Step 11: Fold the same point down to meet the bottom edge.

Step 12: Fold the same point up once again, but this time to meet the edge of the bottom flap (as shown by the line in the picture).

Step 13: Fold the bottom edge of the point you just folded up to meet the same line shown in the previous step.

Step 14: Unfold previous two (2) steps.

Step 15: Fold the bottom point up along the line shown.

Step 16: Fold the same point down along the line shown.

Step 18: Unfold the top flap.

Step 19: Flip your paper over from left to right.

Step 20: Fold both the left and right edges in to meet the middle crease.

Step 21: Fold the top point down along the line shown.

Step 22: Fold the same point up to meet the top edge.

Step 23: Unfold previous step.

Step 24: Flip your paper over from left to right and arrange it to sit as shown.

Step 25: Fold both the top and bottom edges of the paper in to meet the middle. Crease only along the lines shown.

Step 26: Unfold previous step.

Step 27: Flip your paper over from top to bottom.

Step 28: Fold the right edge to meet the line shown.

Step 29: Flip your paper over from top to bottom.

Step 30: Fold both the bottom and top right corners inward to meet their nearest crease line.

Step 31: Unfold previous step.

Step 32: Fold both the bottom and top edge of the paper in to meet the middle, along the crease lines you made previously.

Step 33: Flatten both the bottom and top right corners so they sit flat and form small triangles.

Step 34: Fold the left edge to the right along the line shown.

Step 35: Fold the right edge to the left along the line shown.

Step 36: Open out the right edge as shown.

Step 37: Fold the inner corners of the right edge to the top and bottom, respectively, to form two points.

Step 39: Fold the paper inward slightly along the lines shown. This will give shape to your bunnys head.
