Instructions
Step 1: Print out your square gift box template. You might like to print it out onto colored/patterned paper.
Step 2: Cut your template out.
Step 3: Fold or score along the dotted lines.
Step 4: Apply glue or double sided tape to the side flaps (see picture for guide). Don't place glue on the rounded flaps. These are part of the top of your box and form the lid.
Step 5: Assemble your box. Allow the glue to dry.
Step 6: Place your gift or treats inside. Then, fold the top of the box down, tucking in the round flap to close.

Tips For Success
A few small details can make a big difference with this one, especially in how "finished" it looks once assembled.
- Thicker paper or cardstock will help the box feel more solid and hold its shape properly.
- Take a moment to crease each fold firmly so the edges look sharp rather than soft or uneven.
- If you're making several at once, do one full test version first so everything else comes out consistent.
- Reinforcing the base is worth it if you're adding anything slightly heavier than sweets or lightweight items.
- Let any glue or tape fully set before filling the box so it doesn't shift or open under weight.

Color, Paper Ideas, and Variations
This is one of those shapes that adapts easily depending on how you style it.
- Keep it simple with plain kraft or white cardstock for a minimal, modern look
- Use soft colors if you're making them for baby showers or gentle themed events
- Go for bold or patterned paper when you want them to stand out at parties
- Add small finishing touches like ribbon, twine, or name tags to personalise each box
- Use them for anything from sweets and small treats to jewellery or handmade items
- They also work well when you need multiple coordinated boxes for events or small business packaging
- You can scale them up or down depending on what you're gifting
